I’ve used the lathe a few times for simple fabrication/modification projects. I like it and it meets my needs.

Ok overall. Worth the price. Can only chuck material less than 1.5 inch. Need different chuck for larger material. Haven't looked into that yet.

Works well. However, a lot of components on the lathe are loose when you receive it, so it's definitely necessary to go through and tighten everything up before use. The belt is of low quality. I would recommend finding a better belt or using the lathe to make V-groove pulleys, allowing you to run a V-groove belt. The product description lists the tail stock as MT3, but it is not an MT3. It is an MT2. I emailed customer service and told them they need to change the description.

Unit needed some adjustment at first along with adding some shims but overall , very strong and sturdy and surprised at the accuracy on the chuck.

This lathe is surprisingly capable, and the few things "wrong" with it respond well to a little cleaning, adjusting, tightening, etc. It's not really powerful, and although it turns aluminum and plastic without complaint, steel is a lot of work and aggressive cutting is not going to happen. Also, I don't make much use of the auto-feed; certainly not for thread-cutting, and only rarely for finish-quality feeding. The gears there are plastic, and I have not put them to the test in any way. Metal-gear kits are available, as are many other after-market mini-lathe accessories.

works fine for small projects needs adjusting and needs more power. I will eventually install a larger motor. Probably an ac motor with a variable frequency drive

Needs a lot of work to get the tailstock lined up. Also some work in adjusting the carriage. Some chatter with mild steel. If you just need something to turn mild or soft metals down, this is good. It's not a 5k Jet lathe. It pretty good for what it is.

This lathe is a good buy for the money I did have to go over it and tweak it a bit and file some spots other than that it runs quiet and has great power..also the reason I bought it is because of the 1.5" spindle bore.. really enjoying this machine.
