Works good

I have only a few hours of run time on this but it seems to be working good. I used the 4" hose.

Pleasantly impressed

I have dumped the 30 gallon bin twice so far, the 1 micron bag on the dust collector is just starting to show a fine layer of dust inside.

Cyclone

I am yet to set this up in my workshop but at eye's view, it appears to be a very strong and worthwhile item to attach to my Dust collection Unit.

It’s working brilliantly. I use a Nilfisk dust extractor that’s great for hand-held power tools, and now I’ve connected it to a cyclone for chip collection from my DeWalt DW733 thicknesser and Axminster 6” jointer. The chips are collected into a 50-litre oil drum, and I made a lid from chipboard to mount the cyclone.

This is a large size cyclone with 100 mm in and out ports. It comes with 50 mm reducers and a short lenght of 50 mm vinyl hose, screws and fitting, attach to a container and you are ready to go.
The plastic material seems very solid, it could be some kind of Polycarbonate, which is an excellent plastic very very strong and tough. The hose is of lesser quality, imo it is too soft and retracts when under strong pressure, the inside is not smooth, and so not optimal, there are better suited hoses on the marked that are quite inexpensive, I use a blue hose, which is very strong and smooth inside, it sells for 6-15 €/m depending on dimensions, it is excellent, keep your hoses short. Use a powerful large volume suction machine to get the full benefit of this cyclone. Combine your DIY system with a HEPA 14 filter, and you could save several thousands of Euro. Vevor should offer a complete kit, the cyclone alone is only a small piece in a larger system.
As always Vevor has a solid delivery system and an attentive service system, should something go wrong.

Cyclone
Sin Cubeta
Works fine. Adapter was useless for my design. Basic cyclone was worth not having to build another Thein separator. My previously built Thein separators have worked better. Time will tell if this brittle plastic cyclone was worth it.

To equal the best, copy the best
I’m a huge fan of low profile separators, so when I started shopping, I looked at recent patents in the US PTO to see what I could learn about current and emerging technologies. I saw one in there by a guy named Thomas Huntley that looks exactly like this one, although yours spins the other direction. I’m not sure if that absolves you from infringement, but it was encouraging because I know so much of what he has invented works exceptionally well. So I bought it. And it does work exceptionally well and at a really cheap price. I’ll let Tom know so he’s on the lookout.
