The universal mount is probably fine but I removed that and drilled them out to accept a t channel bolt for my application. They seem plenty strong. I may swap out the webbing at some point

Let's see how they do with time, but these J bars look great for the price. They're very simple and don't have any obvious design flaws. The one drawback is that they don't look like they'd go snug on any flat bar--a round 1-2" bar is needed for a good fit. I plan to try them with the SeaSucker Monkeybars. I would never buy the Vevor roof rack after reading horror stories online! The instructions seem to have been updated to remove parts #3 and #4 but drawings were not updated, so the wrong numbers are called out. This is very contusing until you work out what happened and then it's not an issue. I also got the wrong number of each kind of nut, but I expect that customer service will fix that promptly.
