I got this for machining small parts for firearms that you cannot buy anymore and other parts. It's been useful for this use. The tool post holder is the weak link. It is of serious poor quality. I had a friend mill me a nice one. The indexing point for rotation is not square and cannot be squared so I remove the spring and lock post all together. It's easier to square it off that way. Otherwise a useful purchase for a small mildly powerful mini lathe.

Hobby Lathe New best tool in the shed
Great for small jobs, Have done some small brass objects, but am still getting used to it. Theres a bit of backlash on the controls, but once its taken into account it seems fairly consistent so far.
Looking forward to doing some thread turning which I've absolutely no experience of,
It's been many many years since i 've done any turning so I'm back on a steep learning curve and enjoying it.
Very satisfied with the product. Taper turning is limited, but not surprising in such a small lathe. Of course I'd prefer to have a bigger, fesature rich lathe , but can neither accommodate one in a limited space nor justify the cost.

After more than 40 years as machinist/setupman and cnc programmor, i am really impressed by this small lathe quality. Every module are very accurate, with minimum end play. I didnt yet test it, but i know it will be very usefull for accurate project. I will send more notice after serious testing.

This lathe was my first purchase from Vevor
Strongly recommend adding a quick change tool post with height adjustment to the cart as the first upgrade . The stock tool post will work for basic tuning needs but you will need to buy smaller tooling to work on the stock tool post .
Overall I’m pretty happy about my purchase and was able to start making various parts for my current project. I have a couple more up coming parts to make for my project that will need some tail stock attachments and I am looking forward to my next tool purchase .
