Exactly what I hoped it would be. Fits great on my Santa Cruz and stays in place thanks to the three tie down straps. Padding definitely protects the tail gate.
Use it for my motorcycle hitch carrier and not bicycles.

The tailgate pad is a much better quality than I anticipated. Pad was thicker than I thought it would have been at the price or was listed at. Will definitely continue ordering their product and truly hope everything is as good as the tailgate pad is.

I like the design but running the straps around the tailgate took two people to accomplish. Also when I was snugging down the straps, one of the ones on the end ended up tearing at the seam so I will have to find a way to patch that to prevent further tearing. Otherwise it works nicely and makes it easy to load the bikes and keep them secure while driving even on the highway.

I REALLY wanted to like this bike pad. It was to replace one I have used for years that did not have tie downs. Unfortunately the middle pad ripped at the seam the first time I used the pad, as soon as I tightened the strap. It is a design and manufacturing problem. The strap was stitched to the seam at the edge and the relied on very thin fabric. Comparing it to my old pad (a Yakima pad) it is woefully inferior in design.

Kip Tailgate Pad
First time using the pad, one of the buckles ripped. I can't get in touch with anybody about a refund, so I can order another pad.
