Item does what is needed to do. Only issues are the length of the pins and sleeve. The sleeve for larger attachments slide off pins. The pins should be shorter.

A little smaller than I figured it would be. Need to have it elevated if attaching to quick hitch.

Ballast Box

The box seems to be good quality, the paint quality is good but isn’t the same shade as John Deere. The only problem I have is that the lift arm pins are too small (short) for the use of quick hitch bushings and there’s only a small hole for a hair pin to hold the arms on the pins. I welded my bushings to the pins at the end of the pin.

The unit arrived and the securing bolts were the wrong lebngth and diameter. They were no use for a cat 1 hitch. Whilst VEVOR tried to rectify the situation, it was not successful. Still wrong diameter. I had to buy ouns from John Deere and drill out the bottom holes in the box. Now fitted, it works fine. VEVOR needs to return to the design and make some minor changes. Apart from that, the box is good.

Overall I'm happy with it. I can only fit about 250 pounds of sand in it, will need to switch to iron or lead if I want to get anywhere close to 800 pounds in it. It does not fit the John deere imatch category 1 quick hitch without modification. I had to buy larger and longer lower pins and drill out the lower holes to fit. The upper pin sits a little high as well but holds without modification.

Nice box, well made. I have put 220 pounds of steel inside and it holds it well. I have a 3025 JD tractor, it fits the three-point hitch but the top-link pin is to large to fit the top-link bar. Seems the metric conversion was a bit off, needs about a 1/32 trimmed of the OPD. I had an extra pin, so no problem. The hitch pins fit a Class 0 three-point, Vevor includes sleeves to fit a Class 1. I have a video here https://youtu.be/yDv4hOdShjM that talks about the ballast box before I knew the pin was to large :).

I really like the overall quality of the sheet metal work and the welding. The reinforced tabs for the lower lift pins were a great feature. The one negative I have about the unit is that it came with undersized pins for the lower lifting arms. These pins are not 7/8 inch which is standard for a category 1 hitch. Instead, they were smaller pins that had a very fragile sleeve to fill in the gap between the pin and the hole on the lift arm. Why not just spend the extra five dollars or so and use actual category 1 sized pins (7/8 inch.)? I ended up going to TSC and getting a new set of pins, both lower and upper of the correct size and then had to ream the holes on the lower pins mount to 7/8 inch to install. Not a big deal but something I shouldn’t have to do on a product that’s advertised to be a category 1 implement.

Overall this is a solid piece of kit. I purchased it to add some ballast to the rear of my TYM 4215, which has excessive lifting capacity for its weight and can easily tip itself over. Overall the quality of this ballast box is really good - uniform paint, decent welds, sturdy, and I like the tool holders for a place to stick a rake and shovel when doing loader work. It's a good value compared to the name brand ballast boxes which are easily three times as much at the local dealerships for the same thing. In fact, it was cheaper than used junk people were trying to sell locally around here. BUT - the 800lb capacity is very optimistic. I filled mine with bags of dry concrete mix - pretty dense stuff, and I was only able to get 480lbs worth before I ran out of room in the box. This would be great for a little Kubota BX or similar machine, but it is a bit on the small side when you get into the compact utility class. If you need to throw 500lbs of weight on your 3pt hitch, this is a solid and affordable way to do it. But if you need more than that, you'll want to find a different solution unless you plan on filling it with lead shot.

Good but top link pin doesn't fit cat 1 BX 3 point hitch
Versión de Perfil Bajo Verde
The product seems well made and will be great for my use. The only issue I had was with the top link pin shipped with the product. It doesn't fit (slightly too fat so the pin doesn't go in the hole) my BX 2380 (2025 model).

Pretty decent ballast box, why pay 1000-1200$ for a Kubota one, the only thing is the pin was to big for my 3 points hitch but not by much just had to machined a few thou’s out. It’s simple but do the tricks for way cheaper than big brand one.
