This is a rope come along for lifting or pulling anything, up to just over 3/4 of a ton. The rope is provided with the package, and it's a generously long 100ft rope which should be more than ample for just about any job. The unit works easily and smoothly, and it's always a bit of a shock whenever I get to use it and realize how much load it takes off of my physical effort to move something. The forward and reverse switching is easy and smooth to use, and did not give me any problems. While using it I found it to be pretty easy to operate and encountered no problems with its design or function. The extra long rope is a real game changer for using a come along, and not only has a better reach, but it spools out and back easily. While it's not as strong as a chain unit, it's strong enough to do most jobs the average home owner will need it to do. The longer reach of the rope makes up for the lower pulling strength (due to the fact that a rope can be damaged and break more easily), and you can even tie the end of the rope directly onto the object being pulled or lifted. This is a well made product, and should give many years of service with the rope being exempted, as it is a normal wear item in this application, and will most likely need to be replaced more than once in the service life of the come along. Summary; This is a useful, well made tool that would be a good addition to any toolbox, and it's really an ideal thing to have with you for offroading and the like. I recommend this product without reservation.
